History

Escro Transport Ltd. is a family-owned business founded by Anthony and Mary Esposito in 1959.  When the company first started they didn't own any trucks, so the very first deliveries were made off a truck Tony borrowed from a friend. These first shipments were scraps of freight larger transportation companies had no interest in delivering.

At first, Escro's primary business was the distribution of meat from shippers in the Midwest.  In the early 1970's, with the decline of the meat industry, Escro started focusing on direct LTL shipments throughout the New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania areas. Next, the company directed its attention to shipping for the confectionery industry, supplementing candy shipments in its fleet of refrigerated trucks. Currently, Escro provides TL, LTL and pool distribution for all the major confectionery companies in the country.

Soon after moving into the confectionery shipping industry, Escro added several pharmaceutical and building supply companies to their extensive list of customers.

Escro rapidly grew from leasing a small location to building its own corporate headquarters in the 1970s on Mayville Avenue in the City of Buffalo.

Today, Escro provides refrigerated, dry TL, LTL and pool distribution services. Escro continues to operate out of its Maryville Road location and runs a second terminal in Guilderland Center, NY, near Albany.  The company also has 14 partner terminals across the United States.
